King Arthur's World

King Arthur's World. I loved this game in the 90's. I don't think it was a particularly popular game, but it intrigued me, in the shop, and I didn't regret the purchase.

You control King Arthur, and a number of people in his army. You summon them, from the tent, and use them to kill enemies, break down doors, bridge gaps, etc.

The initial levels revolve around introducing a single unit type, and learning to use them. They start with short, easy levels. Later levels use multiple types, and eventually all the possible unit types, and get more and more complex.

Some of the unit types are the obvious ones you'd expect. Solidiers, archers, even wizards. But there are barrel men, with explosoves, and engineers, who bridge gaps, build catapults, and break down doors.

And this was a game from when it wasn't uncommon to have no way of saving your progress. The way this game allows you to continue your progress with a password. I like the style of password they chose to use, it's a grid of blue/red squares. You write down the pattern, then use it to get back to the level you stopped at. King Arthur's World saving
