Dragon Quest
Dragon Quest (Originally Dragon Warrior), this is one of my favourite series of games. I first started playing on my Nintendo DS and it must've been IV, V & VI that I played on that console. I was delighted when after a while Dragon Quest IX was released! It was different in many ways to the ones I had played. It had 3d graphics, instead of the the top-down, tile-based ones I had been playing, but very enjoyable. I also discovered Dragon Quest Monsters and Monsters: Joker. And later Monsters: Joker 2.
The main games in the series, you control a hero and you walk around a large world. Randomly you will have a monster encounter, consisting of a turn-based battle. You can buy weapons, armour, and various other items. In some of them you meet other characters who join you.
I briefly played Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, but never really got into it. And finally I played Dragon Quest Swords, on the Wii, whereby you use the wiimote as a sword, Very different to any of the others, but I really got into this one. And there are others that I never tried, for systems that I never had. I've currently got my eye on Dragon Quest Builders for the switch.
But most recently I started at the start and just finished Dragon Quest I. I played a SNES version of the original game. I think it's an English translation of a Japanese port of the NES to SNES version. I've got started on the second game now.
